Juvenile Law Philosophy

Juveniles represent the most vulnerable population of our communities.  Most lack the financial resources of adults, they are frequent targets of law enforcement; they have no influence in our political system; and they are unable to vote for the officials who write the laws or the judges who adjudicate them.

Our legal system refers to juveniles as children when we want to diminish their capacity, but we don't hesitate to charge them as adults when we want to enhance their punishment or culpability.  I can't change any of these realities, but if you are a minor and you need a lawyer, I can make sure your rights are protected, your treatment is respectful and your voice is loudly heard.
